Tricks of the Light is the stunning new album from Gronk.

The twelve tracks were whittled down from some thirty or so written by Gronk over the last year.

This was always intended to be a full album and was released as such in 2006. Some of the instrumental tracks went through some minor editing (mainly to trim them to a more reasonable length) a few months later.

A little-heard instrumental album, this themed collection sees Gronk experimenting with an untypically electronica dance sound, with very dark and disturbing overtones.

Gronk's 1996 double album, remastered as a Ten Year Anniversary Edition in 2006, was heavily influenced by The Cure's Disintegration. The overall feel of the album is much the same: layered, brooding but with occasional upbeat songs to keep the pace up.

The four singles "released" from Sweet Streams of Nancy were Open Water, Turn, A Dream of St Peter and Charybdis.

Each single came replete with one entirely new song and two demos or remixes of other album tracks (most of which, the demos of Open Water and Charybdis particularly, were well worth listening to). In the event, these tracks were all collated onto one cassette called Singular.

Gronk's 1994 instrumental album, remastered in 2006, stands the test of time as a modern symphony. Although set in nine distinct movements, each track reiterates the common threads and themes running throughout the piece.
