Our first review for 'Tricks Of The Light', and ... it's good!

Tricks of the Light is the stunning new album from Gronk.

The fourteen tracks were whittled down from some thirty or so written and performed by Gronk over the last year.

The album proceeds in three distinct phases: the first has a poppy, electronic vibe. Following this is the fuller, rounded sound of Dream On, Every So Often and A Mist of Stars; the last phase is the lighter, folky tracks.

Tricks Of The Light is released on Monday 13^th October exclusively through this site. The download includes artwork and costs £5.

Gronk is currently on holiday in the USA. But he is still recording stuff, with Scott, his American friend and possessor of bizarre instruments—such as an accordion and a marimba. Gronk's latest missive is a short one...

Gronk is playing a gig, at Clockwork, this Friday (13/07/07). Originally intended as a Carnival of Souls live set, the full band have been unable to make it, although Hugo with be taking up the sticks to play drums on this occasion.

Gronk has rustled up some old friends to cover the other instruments, and this hastily thrown together ensemble will be playing under the name of Heavy Weather. Doors open at 8pm and Heavy Weather will take to the stage at about 9.30–10pm.

Technical difficulties with our server brought the last Gronk site down and, since it was slightly out of date anyway, we have put together a brand new site for you.

Yes, we know that it may look like a mere face-lift at present, but let us assure you that we shall be adding lots of exciting new features...
